Functional medicine
An appointment involves a baseline comprehensive blood test and assessment of symptoms. The body is understood as an interconnected system, and aspects like gut health, inflammation, hormones, toxin exposure, immune health, cardiometabolic health and psychological wellbeing are looked at. In some cases additional testing such as microbiome testing, advanced hormone (DUTCH testing), genetic testing or others are done if symptoms and health risks require a deeper exploration. Regular followup means plans are monitored and tweaked as necessary. This Philosophy of medicine underpins all the work I do; this is the foundation of my practice. BHRT (Bioidentical hormones)
I am a hormone specialist, with a Bsc in Endocrinology, and training with some of the top educators in BHRT (The Marion Gluck clinic, and The American Adacemy of Anti-aging Medicine). A comprehensive blood test including an advanced hormone profile which looks at things beyond a standard NHS test (such as testosterone, DHEA-S, and full thyroid panel) are checked, and a personalised plan created which may include compounded bioidentical hormones. Regular monitoring and precision care can treat conditions such as Perimenopause and menopause, PMOS, Endometriosis, PMS, PMDD, Thyroid conditions, fertility problems and testosterone deficiency. I treat both men and women.
